The purpose of a Preprint Journal Club, in our opinion, would be to not only discuss research fresh out of the lab, but to provide an opportunity for early career researchers to develop their manuscript peer review skills, whilst also providing constructive feedback to the authors. We also hope that by introducing preprints into every-day lab practices, this project will promote the engagement of researchers with preprints.",

Phylogenetic profiles, presence/absence patterns of genes over a set of species, are commonly used to trace the functional and evolutionary history of genes across species and time. With PhyloProfile we can enrich regular phylogenetic profiles with further data like sequence/structure similarity, to make phylogenetic profiling more meaningful. Besides the interactive visualisation, the tool offers a set of further analysis features to gain insights like the gene age or core gene estimation.",
